192.168.10.1 Router Login

192.168.10.1 is a mid-range default that a scattering of brands chose to stay out of the crowded .0.1 and .1.1 space. TRENDnet uses it across its TEW routers, some Zyxel fibre gateways ship with it, Ubiquiti’s older AmpliFi and some UniFi setups use it, and a number of regional ISPs in Asia and Latin America configure their gateways on it. It is also the address most often confused with 192.168.100.1, the cable modem page, because the two differ by a single digit.

How to log in at 192.168.10.1

  1. Connect to the router’s network. Join its Wi-Fi or plug in with an Ethernet cable. Mobile data, a VPN, or a different router’s Wi-Fi will not reach 192.168.10.1.
  2. Type the address in the URL bar. Enter http://192.168.10.1 exactly, in the address bar at the top of the browser, not in a search box. Some devices also answer to a hostname such as the IP only.
  3. Accept a certificate warning if one appears. Routers that use HTTPS on the local network present a self-signed certificate. On your own router the warning is expected; choose Advanced and proceed.
  4. Sign in. Use the credentials from the table above or from the label on the router. Usernames are case-sensitive on some firmware.
  5. Change the admin password. Do this before anything else. Default credentials are public, and remote management, if enabled, exposes the login to the internet.

Common mistypes of 192.168.10.1

None of these open anything. Each is a slip that sends people to a search page or a timeout instead of the admin panel.

192.168.10.1 will not open: what to check

Wrong gateway. The most common cause by far. Read the Default Gateway from your device: ipconfig on Windows, Wi-Fi details on macOS, iPhone and Android, or ip route on Linux. If it is not 192.168.10.1, that is the address to use.

Typed into search. A page of search results means the address went to a search engine. Click the address bar, clear it, and type the IP again. Adding http:// in front forces the browser to treat it as an address.

HTTPS forced. Some browsers upgrade to https:// automatically and the router does not answer there. Type http:// explicitly.

VPN or private DNS. A VPN routes everything away from the local network; secure DNS in the browser can break router hostnames. Turn both off while you log in.

169.254.x.x address. If your device shows an address starting 169.254, it never received one from the router. Restart both devices, and check the cable or Wi-Fi connection.

Forgotten password. Defaults failing means someone changed the password. Hold the reset button for about ten seconds to return the unit to factory settings, which also erases its configuration and Wi-Fi name.

Frequently asked questions

What is the login for 192.168.10.1?
TRENDnet, Tenda, Comtrend and Cambium use admin / admin; Zyxel uses admin / 1234; Grandstream and Actiontec print a password on the label. ISP gateways nearly always use the label.
Is 192.168.10.1 the same as 192.168.100.1?
No. 192.168.100.1 is the built-in status page of cable modems. 192.168.10.1 is an ordinary router gateway. If you are on cable and 192.168.10.1 does not answer, you probably meant the other one.
Why is my gateway 192.168.10.1 when I never set it?
Either the router shipped that way, or a previous owner or installer set it to avoid clashing with an ISP modem on 192.168.1.1. It works exactly like any other private gateway.
Can I use 192.168.10.1 for a second router?
Yes. It is a good choice for a router behind an ISP gateway because it will not collide with 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Set it under LAN settings and give DHCP a range such as 192.168.10.100 to .200.
